Abstract cardboard sculpture is wall art built from the material most people throw away. I cut recycled cardboard into shapes, layer them up, paint them — and the result is something with real physical presence that a flat print can never have. The edges catch light. The depth creates shadow. The surface changes depending on where you stand and what time of day it is.

At 19×25 cm this is the smallest piece in the collection, but it carries as much presence as the larger works. The structure is inspired by Japanese torii gates — a simple arch painted in layered blue.
